A long awaited and much needed trip to Dubai was all the R&R (and fresh content) I needed. Honestly, travelling during the pandemic came with its challenges and scares but not enough to wear me down. The Emirates website is up to date with all the measures, restrictions and relevant information for inbound travellers to Dubai. With frequently updated information, be sure to check it out while booking your flight.

Fast forwarding to the exciting part. I got a chance to stay at the World's Tallest Hotel. The Gevora Hotel is a Guinness Book of World Records holder and I must say that the experience was vitalizing. Walking into my room on the 69th floor made me feel on top of the world (literally!) with floor to ceiling windows providing sweeping views of the tall buildings on Sheikh Zayed Road, the Emirates Tower and Burj Khalifa made me not want to leave the room. Watching the landscape change colours from dawn to dusk and then the twinkling buildings at night really amped up the whole experience of staying at this hotel. The airy, spacious, comforting and thoroughly sanitized room gave me a very homely feeling. My morning coffee never felt better!

The open air Highest View Lounge at the 72nd floor is a must visit for dinner. The food and shisha are excellent, made even better by the quick service and beautiful golden glamorous interiors. It's the perfect spot for your next Instagram post. The hotel usually has promotions for guests so be sure to find out and book in advance. The 12th floor is the heart of the hotel housing the pool, spa, another fine dining restaurant, conference halls, a prayer room and an exhibition of vintage cars (including the Batmobile!). Nothing gets better than soaking in the jacuzzi and looking at the majestic Burj Khalifa.

My review would be incomplete if I didn't mention the flip side of the coin. The room service is a tad slow probably because the building only has 4 elevators, which also makes going up n down from your room slightly tiresome, especially if you're carrying heavy shopping bags from Dubai Mall! Another advice would be to carry your own toiletries because the ones provided aren't of the highest quality.

If you're visiting Dubai for its views, skyline and glam, then the Gevora Hotel should definitely be on your list of options. The price is affordable given its located on Sheikh Zayed Road with proximity to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, numerous cafes and lounges, DIFC and only a 15 minutes drive to the international airport. The hotel can accommodate long-stays too, just in case you wanted to move to Dubai for a month.

I'm back now and can't help missing my hotel room, but feel utterly blessed and fortunate to have been able to make this trip safely and return home healthy. For any more information about the trip or hotel, feel free to DM us on Instagram (@hotelitout) or email hotelitout@gmail.com.

Until my next blog, Du-bye,

Anubhuti
